Renovation of a jewelry store Tijd! : “Ready for a new step and new experience”
The new Tijd store! Watches & Jewelry has reopened. Nicki Kappel: “The old store of the German company Otto Ebensberger actually still looked quite good, but we had the feeling that we were ready for a new step and a new experience. The step towards 2030. We are doing well and are very involved on the customer, but for a demanding future, the step towards extra experience seems very cool and business smart to us. That led to a renovation of the jewelry store.”
The shop design concept for Tijd!
Rick Blankenstijn from WSB: “The first conversation with Minke and Nicki was immediately very nice. Nicki and Minke had taken a good look around and they did not want a standard jewelry store. Ready for renovation, to put it politely, they were a bit tired of the brand cabinets of the past. The trendy Kool Optiek store in Rotterdam, where everything is different, was very much appreciated. In the concept we came up with the idea that we would like to create a meeting between old building materials and ultra-modern materials. The store should not be ‘over the top’ luxurious, suitable for a wide audience. In the old store there was a great emphasis on watches. In the new concept we have made the switch to more presentation of jewelry and gold.
Unique design with a story
“The shop windows tell a beautiful story, but are not the whole book. That is experienced inside. I think the combination of the centuries-old doors to the studio, the stone wall, the tiles and the structured walls and the warm display case presentation in a conceptual balance. The renovation of the jewelry store brings the collection into its own. When you walk in, you say: Wow! And what a collection! However, one thing in the concept forms the basis: the sublime customer approach of Minke and Nicki. That is also special!
