Large-scale renovation of Daka Sport’s interior!
WSB’s retail designers and interior decorators have realised the dramatic make-over of Daka Sport at Abraham Stolkweg. This is Daka Sport’s headquarters. The bright red colours were removed. The concept has become more authentic and was updated to a black label in combination with warm wood shades.
Daka, for sports.
Meanwhile, Daka Sport has become a major player in sports retail in the Netherlands. An icon! Spearheads include: great range ‘For Sports’, good service, low buying prices, good range. Daka’s website is an icon in the world of sports.
DAKAs Managing Director Jan-Peter Dankaart says: “DAKA Sport is a reputable player in winter sports, and in addition to fashion, we also offer the sports collections of the leading brands. Our power is our specific proposition and our family business’ independent entrepreneurship.
Originally, DAKA Sports is a Rotterdam-based family business, started in 1965 by his father, Peter Dankaart, and his wife Anke, respectively age 21 and 19 at the time. Meanwhile, DAKA grew into a business with 14 outlets throughout the country, plus the internet store, DAKA.nl. Since Peter Dankaart passed away in 2017, his son Jan-Peter and daughters Esther and Patricia are in charge.”
WSB: Successful designers of sports shops
What makes the interior of your sports shops commercially successful? This goes beyond delivery of a middle unit. Every creative challenge starts with a strategic concept dialogue to clearly define the Retail Marketing Strategy: Who are you, what do you want to achieve? What is the DNA of the customer-product-environment? The DNA of the shop becomes visible during the design phase and becomes tangible during realisation.
